Frequently asked questions

Do I need a tourist licence to list on Costadels Self?

Yes. A valid tourist licence (licencia turística) is required by Spanish law and must be entered when you register your property. You are solely responsible for obtaining and maintaining your licence. Costadels provides guidance and links to the relevant authorities during onboarding, but does not obtain the licence on your behalf.

How does guest payment work?

Guests pay securely via Stripe when booking. The payment is held until check-in, then released directly to your Stripe account. Costadels never holds or handles your rental income — it goes directly to you. Costadels charges 0% commission and zero booking fees.

Are there any payment fees?

Costadels charges 0% commission and zero booking fees. Stripe, the payment processor, charges standard Stripe fees per transaction — the same as you would pay with any direct payment solution. Costadels receives no part of this fee.

What happens if a guest reports a problem?

If a guest reports a serious issue within 24 hours of check-in, payment is held while you and the guest resolve it directly. You have 72 hours to reach a resolution. If no resolution is confirmed, payment is released to you automatically. Costadels provides the platform for communication but is not a party to any dispute between you and the guest.

Am I responsible for Spanish guest registration?

Yes. As the owner and operator, you are legally required to register all guests with Spanish authorities via SES.hospedajes within 24 hours of check-in. Costadels provides information and direct links to the registration portal, but you are responsible for completing the registration.

Can I upgrade to Costadels full service later?

Yes. If you decide you would prefer Costadels to manage everything — pricing, guest communication, compliance, cleaning coordination and payouts — you can upgrade to full service at any time. Your listing, photos, reviews and booking history carry over automatically. There is no penalty for switching.

What happens if I stop paying after the free trial?

Your listing is paused — not deleted. All your property information, photos and booking history are saved. You can reactivate at any time by choosing a monthly or annual plan. Any confirmed future bookings remain active during the grace period.
